Knoxville, TN
Hello everyone! I just starting publishing my work hoping that it would help my husband and I raise money for medical expenses! We are realizing that starting a family is going to be very different from what we originally anticipated. I know that the Lord is going to be faithful (He ALWAYS is) to help provide the funding we need in order to go forward with building our family. I am thankful for all of the support that friends and family have given us. Thank you for taking time to visit my blog! Please contact me with questions, projects, or if you want to purchase any of my projects at refinishedfurnishings@gmail.com

Blue Twin Bed

We were given this twin bed for free... Once again, the "before picture" was lost when my phone crashed... but it was pretty drab looking... It needed some TLC. I sanded down some imperfections and started painting! This is finished in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Robins Egg Blue, with a clear wax finish. I was sad to let this bed go because I just LOVE the color...

Red Hutch

I was asked to refinish this piece for a friend. She is giving her kitchen/living room a fresh look and wanted this to be an accent piece in the kitchen. She told me that at one point she was going to get rid of it! Below are pictures of the process...
It was painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Emperors Silk, with a clear and dark wax finish.
I LOVE what the dark wax did for the piece...
 Here is the before picture...

I also painted 4 picture frames that will be hung above the hutch in their kitchen...
This family LOVES pictures even more than I do...
I didn't even think that was possible...

My husband spent an hour trying to figure out how the doors were supposed to go back on...
We learned our lesson and will pay closer attention to the hinges on our next project with doors... HA!
I said I used a t-shirt to apply wax... but, I did give the wax brush a try... I just didn't like this brush because the bristles kept falling out which just slowed down the process...

I found the easiest way to apply the dark wax is to let it sit for a little while and then wipe it down with the clear wax in order to get your desired look. I use an old t-shirt to apply the wax. (Some prefer a wax brush but I personally don't)
I wish my camera could take better photos... the wax really enhanced the finished look!
Here it is in their home... ADORABLE!!!

Glass Top Blue Side Table

My mom also gave me this table to refinish. It was really dirty before I refinished it. Sadly, I lost the before picture when my phone crashed. I refinished it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Robins Egg Blue with a clear wax finish. I love how unique it is!

Vintage Coffee Table

I found this table on a site called West Knox Trading... it's basically an upscale Craigslist Facebook group where you can buy and sell items. I was so excited to find this and purchase it. I refinished it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen with a clear wax finish. I'm just looking for a few more pieces to complete our master bedroom.
(I don't have a before picture).
I love the feminine feel of this table. I paid a bit more than usual to be able to have this piece... I think it was worth it!

Dr. Suess Inspired Side Table

My mom also gave me this table... (she scored a bunch of tables at some recent auctions for very cheap and decided to share her bounty with me). It was in need of some help... but I went for it. I painted it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Emperors Silk and the knobs are Florence. It has a clear wax finish.

Half Moon - FLORENCE

I had some Florence paint left over from a previous project (see the teal bed). It was just enough to paint this little half moon table that my mom gave me. Isn't it darling?
It has a clear wax finish.

Little Yellow Desk

I bought this little desk at an auction. It was in really rough shape... There were two holes in it and scratches all over the top of the desk. It was a brown color. I wish I still had a "before" picture, but my phone crashed while I was home for the holidays and could only get what I posted to my instagram. (I was devastated...) I was thinking about selling this... but I LOVE the way it looks with my new frames in our "home office." It is painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - English Yellow, with a clear wax finish.

Wine Rack

When my parents came down to visit, they brought us a variety of things that they thought I would enjoy painting and adding to our home. One item was this wine rack. They also brought us a bunch of different styles of wine glasses... So I painted it, distressed it, waxed it, hung it in our kitchen, and added the wine glasses! I love it! It is painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Robins Egg Blue, with a clear wax finish.

Auction! Auction! Auction!

I grew up going to auctions with my parents pretty frequently. I can safely say that the majority of my parents home is furnished because of auctions... I went to my first auction with a family from our church who randomly asked us to go with them. This was my first time actually bidding on items! It was such a RUSH! Needless to say we purchased some furniture that was in rough shape... but I could see past that and knew I could restore the items... Now, I am officially a auction hopper! :~) I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White with a clear wax finish on the majority of the pieces.
Here are all of the before pictures of what the furniture looked like...
This is what my living room "paint room" looks like when I get a lot of projects... Don't judge :~)
Cute little table with a detachable hutch
I really loved this corner desk and was sad to part with it!
I loved this hutch as well. I think furniture looks so clean when it is white!
 Nightstands... oooo lala!
This dresser needed a lot of love, wood clue, sanding and new hardware. I found the same handles on etsy. I painted this a true white paint (not chalk paint). I spray painted the hardware silver. I sold all of the pieces separately so it didn't matter if they matched...

This desk/vanity also needed some TLC as the top was broken and the inside of the drawers were in rough shape. Nothing to scary for me! I also painted this a true white regular paint... I also lined the drawers with some pretty wrapping paper to cover up the ugly stains that I couldn't get out... I think it is beautiful!
